# How to make stacked plots using XWINNMR XWINPLOT software

> open xwinnmr from a bruker instrument
> xwinplot
<xwinplot window should appear on your screen>
on the xwinplot window
click LMB on Data (upper righthand coner below file)
<Data Set Selector window pops up>
click LMB on Edit
<Portfolio Editor window pops up>
select the files you want to use for the stacked plot in
the correct order either ascending or descending.
use either <Append> or <Insert> (or your <Remove> to take out a file)
Click <Apply> (This should close the Portfolio Editor window)
on the Data Set Selector window, click LMB on Apply and then Ok
Use the stacked plot ICON on the left side of xwinplot window
To get NMR ICONS, select the NMR radio button (two choices Basic or NMR!)
Then using the LMB, click and drag the LMB on plot window
(At this point, as spectrum should appear on the screen)
Click LMB on on the selection tool (directly above EXPAND)
(This should enable a number of the selection buttons above the plot window)
Click LMB on the spectrum on the plotwindow that you just made to select
that experiment.
(A number of green squares should appear on the plot
Click LMB on Edit
<Edit Display Object window pops up>
(In the Edit Display Object window you can set up your stacked plots by
editing the following
* Number of Stacked Spectra (Any number you want)
( If you now want to add or subtract spectra, edit the order of the spectra
you can do this by Clicking LMB on Select from Portfolio - This will
take you to Data Set Selector window, and edit command on that will
take you to Portfolio Editor. Use this the sameway as before AKA See ABOVE)
* Spectra Offset ( H x V)
( Here you can set both (H)orizontal and (V)ertical offset
Other useful things you may want to change are
>From the Graph Object Editor
* Xmin, Xmax:
* Ymin, Ymax:
* Radio button for axis location and grids
At the bottom of the Edit Display Object window
* Check "White Wash" radio button to set white wash feature
******To preview anything use apply**********
Click LMB OK or Cancel to exit Edit Display Object
